The refurbishment of our main church was completed in 2009, and the fantastic new look church was unveiled at the opening service held on 1st November 2009. Take a look at a few of the photographs to see the transformation, or come along to one of our regular services to see for yourself.

This completes the final piece of a 3 phase programme of work to refurbish our church premises. In 1995 the church members felt that the church buildings were in need of refurbishment, and it was agreed to take on the major task of redeveloping these.

  • Phase 1 was completed in summer 1999. This work included the refurbishment of the church roof and hall; the creation of a church office and foyer, and improvements to disabled access.
  • Phase 2 was undertaken in summer 2002, and included the refurbishment of meeting rooms, the modification of the kitchen, and improvement to toilet facilities.
  • The refurbishment of the main church was saved until last, and the work was carried out in the summer and autumn of 2009. This included the replacement of the lath and plaster ceiling, insulation and re-plastering of the walls, replacement of the windows, a new floor, a brand new balcony, comfortable seating and new carpet.

We hope that the end result will aid and support our worship of God, meet the current needs of a church seeking to serve God in the 21st century and be flexible enough to ensure they are suitable for future generations. We are very thankful to the many people whose hard work and support has enabled this vision to become a reality.
