Activities at our church premises remain suspended because of the current coronavirus situation.
As lockdown eases, we will be reviewing new government guidance, alongside advice from the Baptist Union of Great Britain, to decide when it is safe and practical to restart some activities at the church. At the moment we don't know when that will be, and in what form that will take, as it is unlikely that we will be able to return to 'normal' for a while yet. This page will be updated once any firm decisions are made.
In the meantime, we encourage you to join in with activities online and to stay in touch with each other via phone, texts, social media platforms etc. It's great to have Alpha Online up and running and our minister, Stuart, continues to record his sermons, which you can listen to here with prayers led by others in our congregation.
Any church members (or indeed any member of the local community) who needs help at this time or has a particular difficulty please contact us and we will see what we can do.
Teach Me To Pray
Like many others, you may be seeking God in prayer during these difficult days. Maybe you have more time on your hands and so have time to pray. Perhaps you're anxious about your health, money, friends and family - if so, the Bible encourages us, "in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, to present you requests to God." (Philippians 4:6).
If you want to learn more about the prayer, the Prayer Course is a great resource. We ran the course at our church last year, and many of us found it helpful. The good news is that all the videos are available free online, so now might be a good time to tap into those to discover more about different aspects of prayer and rediscover how to pray.
The 24-7 Prayer website also has resources to prayer specifically about our response to the coronavirus.
If you'd like us to pray for you, please get in touch.
Are you in need of some daily hope during lockdown? Daily Hope is a new FREE telephone line for you to ring to hear comforting hymns, daily prayers and reflections. The number is 0800 804 8044. More information can be found here.
